Product Profile:

Lammilco Lamb Milk Replacer is a cold-processed milk replacer that uses only the highest grade ingredients and is formulated for optimum lamb performance.  For a more complete description of the cold-processing, ingredient selection and specialized formulation used in the design of Lammilco lamb milk replacer, see Crystal Creek's Elite Calf Milk Replacer.  The information there apply's equally to Lammilco lamb milk replacer.  

Mixing And Feeding Directions: 

Mix at a rate of 2 lbs. of Lammilco with 1 gallon of water or 1 measuring cup (4 oz.)* of Lammilco with 1 pint of water.

1. For cold ad lib feeding with free access feeders.

Make a concentrated mix (slurry) by adding Lammilco to 1/3 of the quantity of water at 135 degrees F.  Mix with wire whip until all product is dissolved.  Add cold water to equal the total volume needed.  Allow reconstituted lamb milk replacer to cool off to room temperature before feeding.  Cooled Lammilco is used to limit intake and prevent over-eating.  A one day supply can be mixed at one time. 

2. For restricted hand feeding with a bottle.

Make a concentrated mix (slurry) by adding Lammilco to 1/3 of the quantity of water at 135 degrees F.  Mix with wire whip until all product is dissolved.  Add additional cooler water to equal the total volume needed.  Feed reconstituted milk replacer at 100 degrees F. according to the following schedule:

Day 1 - 2     Colostrum
Day 3 - 4     3 oz. of reconstituted Lammilco every 4 hours.

Day 5 - 14   Gradually increase amount per feeding from 3 to 8 oz. and reduce number of feedings from 6 to 3 per day. 

After Day 14 Feed 8 - 12 oz. of reconstituted Lammilco 3 times per day. 

Lambs can be weaned at 4 - 6 weeks of age, weighing at least 25 lbs.

Management Tips:

1. Lammilco can be used to save orphan lambs, weak lambs, unclaimed lambs, and lambs from multiple births.

2.  Feed colostrum for at least the first 24 hours of life.  If ewe's colostrum is not available, cow's colostrum can be used. 

3.  Assist lambs for the first day or two on the feeding device used. 

4.  Provide a dry, warm and draft-free pen to start lambs on Lammilco milk replacer. 

5.  Provide a high quality lamb starter feed at one week of age. 

6.  Lambs can be weaned at 4 - 6 weeks of age weighing at least 25 lbs. 

7. Keep milk replacer feeding equipment clean.
